Veterinary Practice Management

Veterinary practice management software built for modern clinics

We build vet practice platforms that run the whole clinic (patient and client records, scheduling, billing, inventory, and reminders) with the cloud architecture and integrations legacy vet software lacks.

What is veterinary practice management software?

Veterinary practice management software runs the daily operations of an animal clinic: client and patient records, appointments, billing, inventory and reminders. Agnotic Technologies builds it for clinic groups and veterinary software startups as a custom, cloud-based system that keeps owner and animal records apart and connects to labs, imaging and payment processors.

The client and the patient are different beings: an owner books, pays and receives reminders, while each animal has its own medical record, vaccination history and species-specific care.

Clinics want online booking, integrated payments, digital records and open APIs, and that is the foundation Agnotic builds.

    What it is

One system for records, scheduling, billing, and stock

Veterinary practice management software runs the operational core of an animal clinic: it holds client and patient records, drives scheduling and reminders, handles billing and payments, and tracks inventory including medications.

The market leans on aging desktop tools, which makes it an attractive vertical to modernize. We build cloud-native, integration-ready platforms that clinics adopt because they're fast, mobile, and connected.

What does veterinary software development cover?

Each capability handles a real clinic workflow, built on a modern cloud foundation.

    15-Minute Scoping Call

    Client & patient records

A data model that separates the owner (client) from the animal (patient), with medical history, vaccination records, weight trends, and species/breed-specific care in one chart.

    Scheduling & online booking

Multi-provider, multi-room scheduling with client-facing online booking, confirmations, and waitlist handling so front-desk load drops and no-shows fall.

    Billing & integrated payments

Invoicing, estimates, treatment plans, and integrated card and wallet payments with deposits and split billing, so checkout is fast and revenue capture is clean.

    Inventory & pharmacy

Stock tracking for medications, vaccines, and retail products with reorder points, lot/expiry tracking, and controlled-drug logs where dispensing is involved.

    Reminders & client engagement

Automated vaccination and wellness reminders over SMS and email, plus a client portal for records and rebooking: the engine behind repeat visits.

    Integrations & open APIs

Connections to labs, imaging, payment processors, and accounting, with open APIs so the clinic isn't locked into a closed legacy ecosystem.

    Where it runs

Which veterinary practices do we build for?

    General practice clinics

Full-service small-animal clinics running daily operations.

    Multi-location groups

Corporate and group practices needing shared records across sites.

    Specialty & referral hospitals

Referral-driven workflows with imaging and lab integration.

    Emergency & 24/7 clinics

High-throughput scheduling and triage for urgent care.

    Mobile & house-call vets

Mobile-first records, scheduling, and payments in the field.

    Equine & large-animal

Farm-call scheduling and species-specific record models.

Vet software clinics actually want to use

The vet market is dominated by aging desktop tools. Modern, cloud-native, integration-ready software is the differentiator, and that's what we build.

    Our Process

How does a veterinary software build work?

Records, scheduling, and billing are built on a modern cloud core so the clinic runs on one fast, integrated system.

    1.

    Discovery & workflow mapping

We map how the clinic books, treats, bills, and follows up, then design the client-patient data model before building.

    Facts and sources

What records rules apply to veterinary software?

Veterinary and payment rules we design clinic records, inventory and checkout around, each linked to its primary source.

    • FDA's extralabel drug use rules define a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship as one where the veterinarian has recently seen and is personally acquainted with the care of the animal, through examination or timely visits to the premises where it is kept.

      Source: 21 CFR 530.3(i) (eCFR)
    • A veterinarian who uses a drug extralabel must record the drug and its active ingredient, the condition treated, the species, the dosage, the duration of treatment, the number of animals treated and any withdrawal time, and keep those records for 2 years or longer if Federal or State law requires.

      Source: 21 CFR 530.5 (eCFR)
    • After the initial inventory, a DEA registrant must take a new inventory of all controlled substances on hand at least every two years, kept separately for each registered location.

      Source: 21 CFR 1304.11 (eCFR)
    • PCI DSS provides a baseline of technical and operational requirements to protect payment account data, and is intended for entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Cost depends on scope: a focused records-and-scheduling build for a single clinic is far smaller than a multi-location platform with integrated payments, inventory, and lab integrations. We scope by clinic size and feature set, phase the build so a working core ships first, and factor third-party integrations (payments, labs, accounting) into the estimate.
