Healthcare software development, from MVP to integrated, compliant product

Health systems and digital health teams lose months to software that cannot connect to the EHR or pass a security review. Agnotic Technologies builds healthcare products that do both from the first release.

Which compliance work is part of every healthcare build?

Compliance shows up as engineering decisions: who can access what, what is logged, how data is encrypted and which agreements are signed.

    Access
Unique accounts, role-based permissions and multi-factor authentication for anyone who can see PHI.
    Audit logging
An audit event for every read, change and export of PHI, stored where users cannot edit it.
    Encryption
Encryption at rest and in transit, including internal service calls and backups.
    Agreements
A business associate agreement with every vendor that handles PHI, signed before data moves.
    Environments
Development and test environments use synthetic or de-identified data, not real patient records.

What drives the scope and cost of a healthcare software project?

We do not publish prices. These are the drivers that move effort most, and the choices that keep a first release small.

How does a healthcare engagement work?

    1. Scoping call

We talk through your users, systems and compliance needs, and agree what the first release has to prove.

    2. Fixed-scope MVP

We build the agreed first release with the security controls and integration it needs, with regular demos.

    3. Scale and support

We add integrations, users and features in phases, and support the product in production.

What do our healthcare clients say?

We don't just build products; we forge lasting partnerships. See how we've helped industry leaders transform their vision into technical reality.

    Which rules shape healthcare software?

    1. The HIPAA Security Rule requires administrative, physical and technical safeguards for electronic protected health information.

Source: 45 CFR Part 164 Subpart C (eCFR)
    2. A HIPAA covered entity may share protected health information with a business associate, such as a software vendor, only under a business associate agreement that commits the vendor to safeguard it.

    3. ONC certification criterion 170.315(g)(10) requires certified EHRs to offer a standardized API for patient and population services based on HL7 FHIR.

      Source: 45 CFR 170.315 (eCFR)
    4. The information blocking regulations restrict practices by health care providers, certified health IT developers and health information networks that interfere with access, exchange or use of electronic health information.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. When our work involves protected health information, Agnotic signs a business associate agreement before we access it, and we make sure every hosting, messaging or AI vendor that touches PHI signs one too.
