    What 1upHealth integration actually involves

    1upHealth is a FHIR-native patient data platform. It lets patients authorize connections to their payers and providers, aggregates the returned records into a normalized FHIR R4 store, and exposes them through standard FHIR APIs — including the bulk FHIR $export used for population-scale data movement and the CMS Patient Access and Provider Directory API patterns payers must support.

    The engineering challenge is data at two scales: the individual patient-authorized connection flow, and population-level bulk export that can return enormous FHIR datasets.
