Connecting a wearable is rarely one API. Consumer data arrives through Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect, clinical-grade devices stream over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) using GATT profiles, and multi-vendor coverage often means an aggregator such as Validic or Terra. Each source has its own units, sampling cadence, consent model, and gaps.
